Breast Implant Revision Surgery
If your breast augmentation has not given you the results that you had hoped for, it can actually leave you more self-conscious and uncomfortable than before.
Common complications that we address are recurrent capsular contractions (hardening of the breasts), ruptured or leaking implants, unsightly scarring, significant differences between the breasts after surgery, bottoming out of breast implants and sagging of the breasts over the implants. You also may just be unhappy with the size, and would like larger or smaller implants.

The Process
This type of surgery is highly individualized, requiring a customized approach tailored to each patient’s needs. We will discuss options with you and formulate a treatment plan that best suits your esthetic expectations. Our goal is to get you back to the look you originally envisioned.
Revision surgery may include:
Reshaping the “pocket” to reposition the implant
Reinforcing the “pocket” with a special tissue matrix or mesh
Increasing or decreasing the size of implant
A breast lift procedure
Capsular contracture repair
A different style of implant, or a change from saline to silicone
Recovery
The down time required is typically similar to your original breast augmentation surgery. Full recovery is generally 2 months, but will vary between individuals and what change we are making. We will discuss expectations and recovery with you during your consultation.
